Sentul Depot is a part of the Sentul Masterplan — a long-term restoration project by YTL Land. Inspired by Meat Packing District of New York and Xintiandi of Shanghai, the goal is to revitalise the aging railway town as the destination of choice in Kuala Lumpur to live, work and play.


Once known simply as 'Block C', this annex was constructed in the 1960s to assemble engine components for diesel locomotives.

Today, the barn-like structure serves as one of the cosier venues at the depot. Fully covered, it provides an intimate, indoor atmosphere suitable for ticketed events. Elevate the experience for your guests by taking advantage of the high ceilings with big and bold installations.

The largest venue at the depot, this workshop was the centre of all the hustle and bustle in Sentul. Man and machine coordinated to assemble and disassemble locomotives, with cranes employed for heavy lifting. A closer look will reveal an engineer's footpath running in parallel to the space.

Its original zinc roofing imported from England has been preserved. Natural light flows into the space, offering an indoor setting with an outdoor atmosphere. With a little space planning, the workshop can be transformed into a lively spot ideal for multi-activity events.

Area: 34,617 sq ft

Workshop 2B is the smaller partition of the same stretch of space as Workshop 2A. In between the two workshops is a brick structure on the first floor formerly used as a storage area for the depot.

Partially flanked by the facade of Workshop 6, organisers can make use of the setting to create an industrial look for their events.

Now, it is commonly used in conjunction with Workshop 2A for large scale events

Area: 15,845 sq ft

A former storage space for copper plates and wiring, it represented a place of convergence for mechanics to gather supplies. Today, The Yard echoes that same spirit, with its light-filled halls centrally located between Workshop 1, 2 and 3 that allow flexible leasing options.

The working space of millwrights — high-precision craftspeople who work with machinery — this area buzzed with mechanics of arguably the world's oldest engineering trade.

Furnished with air-conditioning, this structure features raw exposed brick with large glass panels outlined in steel, making it a unique destination for weddings and other events.

Area: 9,526 sq ft

Carved out of the corner of the largest structure at the depot is Workshop 5, where the toughest of repair works took place. Back in the days, exhaust pipes, vacuum cylinder brakes, and wheels sent here to be given new life. Bordered by solid concrete columns, Workshop 5 offers a sheltered yet airy and bright space suitable for production works.

Area: 6,480 sq ft 

A grand space that spans the entire grounds, Workshop 6 once housed numerous manufacturing and welding areas for the different parts of locomotives and features several enclosed rooms that served as offices and even a training workshop for apprentices. Overhead is the unique saw-tooth roof, a useful feature designed for factories to let in natural light while shielding the interior from heat.

The workshop also features a beautiful courtyard that has nurtured trees and numerous plant life since the establishment of the depot more than 100 years ago.

This unique building prominently features the beautiful architectural element of the arch in the form of two arched roofs and a stunning doorway. A former electrical workshop, the Diesel Room is a one-of-a-kind venue open for long-term leases.
